Shkodran Mustafi has revealed he was easily convinced to make the £35million move from Valencia to Arsenal.

The 24-year-old, who sought the advice of Mesut Ozil before agreeing to the move, is expected to be officially unveiled on Tuesday after completing a medical with the club.

And the Germany international says Arsenal's playing style persuaded him to swap La Liga for the Premier League.

“I have always loved Arsenal, I like how they play here, it is not typical English," he told Sky Sports Germany.

“The game here is more like in Spain and with the German national team, keeping the ball on the grass, so it was easy to convince me.”

Mustafi is expected to be announced alongside Lucas Perez, who will join for £17million from Deportivo La Coruña.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said on Saturday: “They will integrate into the team now and we will help them join squad. We had to work very hard to get signings done. We have not got any plans for anyone else now.”
