Crystal Palace are set to complete the loan signing of Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah.

Frank de Boer has been looking to strengthen his defensive options and the 19-year-old has agreed to move to Selhurst Park for the 2017-18 season.

Fosu-Mensah, who can also play in central defence and midfield, will now undergo a medical on Monday.

Palace have already signed Jairo Riedewald from Ajax this summer and De Boer has also had an interest in Arsenal defender Calum Chambers.

New Palace manager De Boer wants to play three at the back and Fosu-Mensah can play in that system on the right of the three.

The Dutch defender started his career in the Ajax youth setup under De Boer before moving to Old Trafford in 2014.

Fosu-Mensah, who has a contract until 2020 with the option of a fruther year, made 11 appearances for United last season and has been allowed to leave on loan by Jose Mourinho.
