British No.1 Johanna Konta and Arsenal forward Jodie Taylor shortlisted for Sportswoman of the Year award

British tennis star Johanna Konta and England and Arsenal forward Jodie Taylor are among the six women shortlisted for the Sunday Times' Sportswoman of the Year award.

The pair have been nominated alongside Elinor Barker (track cycling), Tammy Beaumont (cricket), Elise Christie (short-track speed skating) and Bianca Walkden (taekwondo) for the prestigious award, which is in its 30th year.

The Sunday Times' Sportswoman of the Year awards aim to celebrate the outstanding contributions of athletes, coaches, community volunteers and inspirational women to their respective sports.

And British No.1 Konta and the rest of the shortlisted nominees will be hoping to claim the award which has been previously won by Laura Kenny, Jessica Ennis-Hill and Christine Ohuruogu when a lavish awards evening is held on Thursday, October 26 at the Hilton London Bankside hotel.

The night will also see awards for the Young Sportswoman of the Year, the Vitality Team of the Year and the Disabled Sportswoman of the Year given out.

The Helen Rollason Award for Inspiration and the Lifetime Achievement Award will also be announced as will the Community Award, which will honour a woman who has worked with people within their own community in sport.
