Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s move to Liverpool is yet another deal to bring Arsene Wenger ‘humiliation’, according to Tony Cascarino.

The former Arsenal man swapped London for Merseyside in a £40m deadline day deal, and it is understood that he turned down the chance to earn more elsewhere in order to join Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

“This will be a transfer (or perhaps that should be another transfer) that heaps humiliation on Arsene Wenger,” the former Republic of Ireland international wrote in his Times column.

“Jurgen Klopp will show Arsenal what you can do with a player, how to make the most of him, rather than forcing him into a position that he does not suit.

“He is a direct player who wants to go forward. He can’t defend.

“He has been accommodating for too long and must master one role.”

Arsenal managed to hold onto star man Alexis Sanchez on deadline day, despite trying to replace the Chilean with Monaco’s Thomas Lemar, who snubbed a move to the Emirates.
