Arsenal's club-record signing Alexandre Lacazette has revealed one of the driving reasons for signing for the club in the summer was Alexis Sanchez.

The Gunners sealed a £52.7million deal for Lacazette from French side Lyon in July, with the striker having gone on to score four goals in seven Premier League matches.

Lacazette has only started two games with Arsenal's star forward Sanchez - the wins over West Brom and Brighton - so far this season, but Arsene Wenger said on Sunday he believes the pair already have a "promising combination".

Sanchez netted 24 Premier League goals last term, and Lacazette has admitted he wanted to sign for Arsenal to play with the Chile international.

"That’s also one of the reasons why I wanted to come to Arsenal - to play with players of [Alexis’] calibre," Lacazette told Arsenal Player.

"Just seeing him in training, I like the way he plays and his mental attitude.

"His approach makes me want to play alongside him - hopefully for many years."
