Alexandre Lacazette is a smart buy - so long as he gets the service at Arsenal, says Danny Murphy

Alexandre Lacazette has been allowed to travel under the radar because only Arsene Wenger really expects Arsenal to win the title.

Compare the Frenchman with Alvaro Morata or Romelu Lukaku: Morata was bought to replace Diego Costa; Lukaku the No9 who was going to win the title for Manchester United.

With those two, people ask: “Will they help their team win the league?” With Lacazette, they say: “Oh, Arsenal have signed a striker, I wonder if he is any good” - even though his fee from Lyon could eventually rise to £53million.

But I like Lacazette. He looks a good finisher, calm in the box and seems to believe in himself. I know it is early to say, but I have seen enough from him to make me believe he will be a smart signing - as long as he gets the service he needs.
