Alexis Sanchez has posted a captionless sombre image of himself on Instagram looking at the Anfield turf during Arsenal's 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool.
The Gunners produced a gutless display as Liverpool scored four on Sunday to condemn the visitors to a second defeat in their opening three games of the new Premier League season.
Sanchez was making his first appearance after a delayed return to pre-season following the Confederations Cup and was starved of service as the midfield and defence struggled to assert themselves at Anfield.
Speculation over the Chilean's future continues with the transfer window closing in just four days' time and Sanchez now in the final season of his current contract.

Arsenal are now not in action until September 9, as the international break takes over the football calendar.
Bournemouth visit the Emirates before the Gunners begin their Europa league campaign against Koln five days later.
