Alexis Sanchez is turning into a lose-lose situation for Arsenal. Keep him and he will go for free at the end of the season. Sell him and he is impossible to replace.
If he stays, he will still be Arsenal’s best player — and one of the best in the league.
But he knows he will be out of contract at the end of the season and for a footballer, that is a precarious place to be.
Sanchez’s work ethic is outstanding, as I have said many times. Yet when you are in your final year, you know you are in a world of trouble if you get a bad injury.
Sanchez will be missing for this game so Leicester must think they have a chance of nicking at least a point.
As for Arsenal, they were superb in the FA Cup Final but I believe they will find it difficult to challenge seriously for the title.
