Antonio Conte has warned his Chelsea players that he will not accept any public displays of dissent over his decisions during matches.
Michy Batshuayi and David Luiz were angry when they were substituted against Palace and Roma respectively. With both taking place in successive games, Conte felt it was important to put a stop to it.
He told his squad in the build-up to Saturday’s match against Watford that such behaviour is not acceptable and stressed the need to stick together after going three games without a win.
Those words had the desired effect as Chelsea came from behind to beat Watford 4-2.
Noticeably, Luiz and Batshuayi responded positively to Conte’s comments. The former played through the pain barrier after going into the match with a calf injury while Batshuayi scored two goals.
