Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has his sights set on returning to Lyon in style at the end of this season.

The 2018 Europa League Final takes place at Lacazette’s former home stadium, the Parc Olympique Lyonnais, and Arsenal are among the favourites to claim the trophy after topping their group.

Arsene Wenger’s side have been drawn against Swedish surprise package Ostersunds in the round of 32 and have a long way to go before they reach the final.

However if they are to follow in the footsteps of last year’s winners Manchester United it would mean an emotional return for Lacazette, yet to play in the Europa League, and the perfect sign off to what has been an impressive debut year in the Premier League.

Reflecting on his first season in north London Arsenal’s £53million record signing said: “It’s good because I was able to score goals for the team. I feel good in the game.

“I like it in England so that’s not bad. I know I can do better but I don’t want to move too fast. It’s a year of adjustment. I’m happy.

“I would like to win a title, even though, in August, I already won the Community Shield. But I would like to win a cup, or a championship will be hard, but I’d like to win the Europa League.”

Lacazette has scored eight goals and provided four assists in his 20 Premier League appearances so far this season but has also set an unwanted league record for the campaign by being substituted off in 14 of his 17 starts.
