Arsenal have announced contract extensions for a trio of their brightest young prospects: Eddie Nketiah, Matt Macey and Ben Sheaf.

All three made their first-team debuts this season, Nketiah announcing his arrival in dramatic fashion with a brace – the first coming with his first touch after coming off the bench – to secure a 2-1 comeback win over Norwich in the EFL Cup.

Macey had been a familiar face on the Arsenal bench for several years but made his first start in that win over Norwich, sufficiently impressing to earn a further appearance in the 0-0 Europa League draw with Red Star Belgrade.

Sheaf came off the bench in that game and is a regular in the Premier League 2 side.

New deals for the trio follow that announced last month of midfielder Joe Willock, whose current deal runs to 2021.

Arsenal are also planning on agreeing an extension with arguably the jewel in the crown of their youth team, Reiss Nelson, who is out of contract in the summer of 2019.
