Arsenal vs Liverpool team news: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on bench for Emirates return

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been named among the Liverpool substitutes on his first game at the Emirates Stadium since leaving Arsenal.

The England international completed a £40million switch to Anfield on deadline day in August after opting not to sign a new contract having played his final game for Arsenal in a humiliating 4-0 drubbing away to Liverpool.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is unlikely to get a hero’s welcome on his return to north London but will be desperate to prove his worth after his former manager Arsene Wenger questioned whether he was guaranteed a starting spot in Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Shkodran Mustafi is on the bench after missing the last three league games with a thigh injury, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles starts in what will be a big test for the youngster against Liverpool's free-flowing attack.
