Alexis Sanchez's former coach has suggested that the Arsenal star is ‘out of shape’ and that the Chilean has got ‘fatter’.
After the debacle of his collapsed move to Manchester City on deadline day, Sanchez flew to Chile for crucial World Cup qualifiers with Bolivia and Paraguay - both of which they lost.
And the 28-year-old has come in for criticism from his former youth coach at international level, Jose Sulantay.
"I saw him gone. I saw him out of physical shape, totally," Sulantay told La Cuarta.
"He’s fatter than normal.
"Without his spark, he never left that Paraguayan defence behind. He never made a diagonal run, it was something else. It was not Alexis.
"This can bring you problems later, the statements of wanting to leave."
Arsene Wenger confirmed that the forward would return to the club from international duty on Thursday and be assessed ahead of their Premier League clash with Bournemouth this weekend.
