Former Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski has given his seal of approval to the Gunners' Europa League group after another of his former sides, FC Koln, were drawn with the north Londoners.

Arsene Wenger's side, who will play in this season's Europa League following their failure to qualify for the Champions League in the first time in 20 years, were drawn with German side Koln, BATE Borisov and Red Star Belgrade in Group H.

Podolski, 32, joined Arsenal from Koln in 2012 before spending three years at the Emirates Stadium during which time he scored 31 goals in 82 appearances for the Gunners.

And after seeing two of his former sides drawn together in the Europa League, Podolski admitted it was the "best" draw for him.

He wrote on Twitter on Friday afternoon: "Cool! The best lot for me!"
