Danny Welbeck suffers groin injury in Arsenal's draw with Chelsea

Danny Welbeck was forced off against Chelsea on after the Arsenal striker sustained a groin injury at Stamford Bridge.

Welbeck was seen clutching his groin as he came off in the 73rd minute of the London derby match following a clash with Chelsea defender David Luiz.

After a few moments receiving medical treatment, Welbeck left the pitch as Arsene Wenger replaced him with Olivier Giroud.

Welbeck's issue will certainly be a worry for Wenger, with Mesut Ozil having missed the clash in west London with a knee problem.

Welbeck's apparent injury occurred with the Gunners holding the Premier League champions to a goalless draw, with Arsenal then seeing Shkodran Mustafi's effort ruled out for offside moments later.

Speaking after the match, Arsene Wenger told Standard Sport: "He has a groin problem. I don't know how severe it is. It looks like it is a 'good' groin problem. Not an easy one."
