Manchester United 1 Manchester City 2 | Premier League | Old Trafford | Kick-off: 4:30pm | Sunday, 10 December, 2017

Manchester City capitalised on two defensive lapses by Romelu Lukaku to claim a record-setting 2-1 win over Manchester United and open up an 11-point lead over their fierce rival in the Premier League.

Both of Lukaku's mistakes came in United's penalty area while he was defending set pieces, with David Silva and Nicolas Otamendi taking advantage to score with close-range finishes in the 43rd and 54th minutes.

Marcus Rashford equalised for United between City's goals, from another defensive mistake, in the meeting of the league's top two teams at Old Trafford.

It was City's 14th straight victory in the league, something that has never been achieved before in England's top flight in a single season. Arsenal won 14 straight games in 2002, but across two seasons.

City team news

As for the Premier League leaders, Vincent Kompany is into the back line with Sergio Aguero forced to watch from the sidelines. David Silva starts as expected, while Guardiola boasts some fearsome pace in Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane and Gabriel Jesus all starting together.

United team news

So the biggest news for United is that Mourinho does indeed go with a bold attacking line-up, switching from a 3-5-2 to a 4-2-3-1. With Pogba suspended that sees Herrera comes in, but Lindelof drops to the bench to allow Rashford to start up top. If United are going to lose today, they're going down in style.

Jose vs Pep

The derby is fast approaching, and the war of words continues...

Jose Mourinho believes Manchester City's players go down very easily, with the Manchester United boss saying it only takes a "little bit of wind" to knock them over.

While full of praise for Guardiola's side, the Portuguese used the opportunity to underline the unbeaten league leaders' apparent tendency to go to the deck.

"They are a good team," Mourinho said. "They defend well, they react well to the moment they lose the ball.

"They have a good dynamic in attack, they have creative movement.

"They have amazing players, they have a fantastic coach, they have lots of good things.

"If you ask me one thing that I don't like a lot it's that they lose their balance very easily.

"You know, a little bit of wind and they fall."
