Manchester United will face Benfica, Basel and CSKA Moscow in the Champions League group stage this season.

United return to Europe's top tier competition after a one-year absence, though won the Europa League last season to qualify after a fifth-placed finish in the Premier League.

The two-time winners of the Champions League, since its rebranding in 1992, it will be 10 years since United's last triumph come this season's finale in Kiev.

United will be happy with their group, though wary of a Basel team who have got the better of the English giants previously in the competition.

Top seeds Benfica were who United beat at Wembley to win the first of its three European titles in 1968, while CSKA Moscow of Russia pose a longhaul trip in the middle of the group stage.
