Mauricio Pochettino joked last year that he would not be changing his trademark Tottenham contract pose for fear of making other players "jealous" - but then along came Kyle Walker-Peters.

Walker-Peters has signed a new long-term Spurs contract until 2020 after starring at right-back in his Premier League debut against Newcastle on the opening day of the season.

The 20-year-old defender has received glowing reviews from Pochettino, who revealed that the youngster gave an impressive speech in the dressing room following Spurs' victory at St James' Park.

And while Walker-Peters was given the usual hug-and-smile from the coach while committing his future to Spurs, Pochettino also treated the defender to a new power pose with hands clasped.

When asked about his pose after Harry Kane's contract renewal last year, Pochettino joked: "Of course we laugh a lot about that. It’s nice, a funny moment.

"But when you make that with the first player after you cannot change because they become jealous - 'Why you change the way to approach me in the picture?'

"It depends on the mood, the week - I don’t know. Many reasons to decide with suit or tracksuit."

Walker-Peters only signed his previous contract extension in February, but may have many similar run-ins with Pochettino if he continues to impress.
