Mauricio Pochettino says he has forgiven Danny Rose for giving an explosive interview where he questioned the club's pay structure and transfer policy - with the Tottenham manager urging the team to move on from the saga.

Rose issued an apology on Friday for giving an "ill-judged" interview to The Sun in which the left-back said he would be paid "what I am worth", urged Spurs to sign players he didn't have to Google and revealed he wants to one day move back up north before the end of his career.

It came just days before the start of the new Premier League season and after Rose found himself linked to Manchester United and Chelsea, with Tottenham believed to have subsequently fined the 27-year-old £130,000 - two weeks' wages - for his public expression of frustration.

Rose is said to be contesting the fine but, speaking about the defender, Pochettino insisted there are no hard feelings about the incident.

At a press conference to preview Tottenham's game away to Newcastle, Pochettino said on Friday: "I forgive him and now we move on.

"Of course [he has a future at Tottenham]. Nothing has changed in my vision or perception of him. The moment he apologised, we moved on.

"For me it's in the past, the situation."
