Michy Batshuayi has left the Belgium camp to return to Chelsea after suffering a foot injury.

The Chelsea striker travelled to Belgium for the Red Devils' friendly games against Mexico on Friday and against Japan next Tuesday, but has now come back to London after feeling pain in his foot.

Belgium boss Roberto Martinez told reporters at a press conference on Thursday: "When Michy arrived, he was in pain so he is out of the two matches.

"He has left for Chelsea."

The injury will be a concern for Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, with the Italian having just one other recognised striker in Alvaro Morata in his squad.

While the Spaniard is Conte's first-choice forward, Batshuayi has been important in making an impact off the bench - demonstrated by his two goals in the 4-2 win over Watford in October and his match-winner in the Champions League victory over Atletico Madrid in September.

Along with Batshuayi, Martinez will also not have defender Jan Vertonghen available for the game against Mexico in Brussels on Friday due to an ankle issue.
