Antonio Conte insists Chelsea's game against Arsenal should go ahead because it sends a defiant message to terrorists.

A device exploded on a tube train at Parsons Green on Friday morning, which is just one stop on the District line away from Fulham Broadway - the station the majority of fans use to travel to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have confirmed the derby against Arsenal will take place as scheduled on Sunday lunchtime, but urged supporters to arrive early in order to get through the heightened security checks that will be in place.

Conte started his pre-match press conference by discussing the events that took place this morning and says it provides an opportunity to make a point.

He said: "Before I start like to say all thought are for the people affected in the incident on the tube.

"For sure this type of situation is very dangerous, your mind goes in this situation.

"I think we have to try to think about playing the game. This is the best way.

"In this case it’s important to continue. For sure there is a great disappointment for this and it is difficult to understand why.

"We have to continue to show that we are stronger than them."
