No action will be taken against Manchester United or Manchester City for the altercation that took place after City's 2-1 Premier League win at Old Trafford earlier this month.

The visitors' celebrations after the December 10 contest are alleged to have sparked a row involving several players and staff from both teams in the corridor outside the dressing rooms.

During that altercation, it is understood that milk and water were thrown at United boss Jose Mourinho from within the City dressing room.

But in a statement, the Football Association said: "Following a review of the evidence provided by the clubs and independent eyewitnesses, the FA will be taking no formal action."

Furthermore, The FA have also confirmed that the United manager will face no individual charge for comments made ahead of the clash.

A separate FA statement read: "Following a review of the evidence provided by the club The FA will be taking no formal action, but have reminded Jose Mourinho any further public comments about match officials may result in disciplinary action."

In the build up to the game, the Portuguese said it only took 'a little bit of wind' to knock Pep Guardiola's players over.
