Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko insists the possible arrival of Danny Drinkwater from Leicester holds no fear for him.

Drinkwater is among the names on Chelsea’s wishlist heading into the final days of the transfer window but the Blues are currently reluctant to meet Leicester’s price tag of over £30million.

Blues boss Antonio Conte is keen to reunite Drinkwater with former Leicester team-mate N’Golo Kante, with whom he won the 2015-16 Premier League title in remarkable fashion.

However Bakayoko, a £40million summer signing from Monaco, sees no cause for concern if his new side bring in another midfielder.

“Danny Drinkwater doesn't scare me,” Bakayoko told SFR Sport.

“It's the competition. It's good, I think every team needs that. It makes you improve.”

Conte’s midfield options are set to swell further in the coming days with Chelsea moving closer to securing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, whose contract expires at the end of the season, from London rivals Arsenal.
