Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain are hopeful of reaching agreement for Serge Aurier to move to north London.

Should the transfer be finalised, Aurier would be expected to sign a five-year deal and the fee could be £23million.

Aurier was stopped from entering the UK for a Champions League match against Arsenal last season because he was found guilty last September of elbowing a police officer.

The 24-year-old has contested the charge and is appealing the verdict.

Tottenham are keen to strengthen at right-back following Kyle Walker’s transfer to Manchester City.

Walker’s departure, from which Spurs received around £50m, has left manager Mauricio Pochettino with just two recognised right-backs, including academy graduate Kyle Walker-Peters.

The 20-year-old, who deputised for the injured Kieran Trippier in Tottenham’s opening day victory at Newcastle, signed a new three-year-contract with the club this week.

Elsewhere, Spurs are expected to conclude a deal to sign Davinson Sanchez from Ajax.

The club announced they had reached an agreement with the 21-year-old last week, with the Colombian expected to cost in the region of £42m.
