Danny Rose and Erik Lamela are back in training with the Tottenham squad after extended spells out injured.

Rose has been sidelined since late January with a knee injury and, along with the Argentine playmaker, has seen his return date pushed back on multiple occasions.

But Tottenham handed fans a boost by tweeting pictures of the duo in training on Wednesday afternoon with the message: "Danny Rose and @ErikLamela train with the rest of the team at Hotspur Way today as they continue to progress with their rehabilitation."

Rose's future at the club is under question following an explosive summer interview in which the left-back claimed players are underpaid and demanded big-money signings “you don’t have to Google”.

Rose was subsquently fined two weeks' wages - worth a maximum £130,000 - and joined the rest of the first-team squad on Wednesday.

Lamela has not played since October 25, 2016, because of a hip problem and has spent the previous 12 months at Tottenham and former club Roma in a bid to solve the long-standing problem.

Neither player are expected back in first-team action soon - Lamela was omitted from the Champions League squad - as the club continue to monitor their rehabilition.
