Tottenham must find a way to go the distance and win some silverware, says Frank Lampard

If Tottenham are to go from being nearly men to winning a trophy, they have to become more relentlessly ruthless. I don’t think they are too far away from having the right mentality - it’s just that final tiny bit.
Of course, everyone wants to win every competition they are in, but you have to get that mindset to stay the distance. That’s what Tottenham have struggled to do, whether it’s losing semi-finals or not quite seeing the season through.
Spurs need to win some silverware. People keep talking about how this is such a great Tottenham team, but they haven’t won anything yet.
It can only get to a certain point before players like Harry Kane and Dele Alli begin looking elsewhere.
I think coach Mauricio Pochettino has the quality of squad to change the side and still do well in all the competitions. The first team can definitely compete. What they need to do is go that extra mile and find the attitude of being winners. For now, their immediate priority is beating Apoel in Cyprus this evening. Tottenham can’t afford any slip-ups.
They face Real Madrid home and away in their following two group games and it’s vital they go into those very hard matches on six points in what is a very strong group.
People will expect a match like this to be easy, but they never are. With the form Kane is in, though, I expect Tottenham to prove too strong.
