Former Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny may have joined Juventus over the summer, but that has not stopped him from furthering his popularity among the Gunners support.

The Polish international spent two years on loan in Italy with Roma before making the Serie A move permanent moving to Turin as an understudy to Gianluigi Buffon over the summer.

However, when his close Arsenal friend Jack Wilshere posted a photo on Instagram from when the two lived in ‘digs’ together, he couldn’t resist a sly jab at the 25-year-old.

“TBT to the digs days and living with the mad man Wojciech Szczesny,” wrote Wilshere, who played his first 90 minutes for Arsene Wenger’s side since September 2014 in the EFL Cup win over Doncaster on Wednesday.

“Can’t believe he let me have my hair like this.”

Szczesny, who spent three years in the youth ranks with the England midfielder before they graduated to the first team, was quick to reply.

“Was that when you were still good at football?” the Pole joked.

Not content to be left red-faced, Wilshere replied with another barb at the shot-stopper, adding: “No it was when you threw the Carling Cup away from us,” in reference to his slip-up in the 2011 League Cup final against Birmingham.
