West Ham claimed their first Premier League points of the season by beating Huddersfield Town 2-0 to give Slaven Bilic some some breathing space on their London Stadium return.

A deflected strike by Pedro Obiang in the 72nd minute and a goal from Andre Ayew five minutes later, when he stabbed home a loose ball from close range after a corner, were enough to end Huddersfield's unbeaten start to the season.

The win took West Ham off the bottom of the table and up to 18th place, still in the relegation zone, while Huddersfield stay sixth with seven points from their four games.

BETWEEN THE STICKS

Joe Hart may be England's No.1 but he's under increasing pressure to perform and the numbers don't make for great reading.

A study from bettingexpert shows that the Hammers’ shot-stopper could take a goalkeeping leaf out of Huddersfield’s Jonas Lössl’s book of how to begin the Premier League season.

"It means more to me than most."

Hammers captain Mark Noble admits he's hurting but is confident they can give Bilic a good birthday present!

TEAM NEWS

Andy Carroll's inclusion is the headline news - Slaven Bilic said he was going to leave it late to decide whether or not he'd make his return to the starting XI tonight, it seems the magnitude of the occasion has prompted him to go with the number nine, it'll be interesting to see how well he and summer signing Chicharito link up.

READY AND WAITING

Team news is imminent here at the London Stadium on what is a huge, and surprisingly sunny, evening for West Ham manager Slaven Bilic.

In for Huddersfield, who are yet to concede in their maiden Premier League season, pose a tough test for the Hammers who are without a point.

I'll have team news, quotes from the West Ham camp and a (hopefully) delightfully insightful Facebook live for you between now and kick off so stay tuned.
