Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has played down speculation linking midfielder Mesut Ozil with a move to Besiktas, stating the German is ‘completely committed to the club’.

Ex-Besiktas board member had claimed on Turkish radio that the club’s head of transfers Erdal Torunogullari met with Ozil’s agent last week.

However, Wenger has insisted the £42million man, who has also been linked with Juventus this summer, will be staying in north London.

‘He is a wonderful player who is completely committed to the club and focused on getting some good results,’ Wenger said.

‘He is completely committed to the club. He is focused on getting results.’
