Aaron Ramsey returning to his formidable best for Wales has been the source of both frustration and encouragement for Arsenal fans while watching Euro 2016.

After picking up one goal and two assists for Chris Coleman’s side at the tournament in France, Gooners are questioning where he’s been the last two campaigns.

In addition, Ramsey has won possession in the final third more times (22) than any other player at the Euros as we head into the quarter-finals.

Arsene Wenger’s latest signing Granit Xhaka is just behind his future teammate in this category, having won possession 20 times in the final third for Switzerland at the finals.

Ramsey would argue that a combination of injuries and being played out of position have contributed towards his lack of form in Arsenal colours.

Wenger chose to play the Welshman wide for much of last term, where he struggled to make a significant impact as Leicester City stormed to the Premier League title.

He found the net only five times and grabbed just four assists for the Gunners over the course of a frustrating campaign – his stats at the Euros prove beyond doubt to Wenger where he must play.

With Jack Wilshere, Mohamed Elneny, Francis Coquelin, Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla, as well as… breathe… Ramsey and Xhaka, all vying for places in Arsenal’s midfield, however, Wenger has some tough choices to make.
