Arsene Wenger believes Alexis Sanchez showed the ‘killer instinct’ after his stunning hat-trick against West Ham.
Sanchez, who stole the show at the Olympic stadium with his second half treble, also provided a brilliantly unselfish assist to team-mate Mesut Ozil to hand Arsenal an early lead.
Currently keeping striker Olivier Giroud out the team, Wenger has hailed Sanchez’s ruthless instinct after converting the Chilean into a leading striker.
‘I think he likes the position,’ Wenger said after the match.
‘When it comes off and he walks off with the ball under his arm it’s a good feeling and I hope there is more to come.
‘The leading strikers in world football at the moment are South American.
‘He has all the ingredients to be a top-class striker and he showed that again. He’s quick, he can dribble, and he has the killer instinct.’
