The next few matches will shape Arsenal’s entire season, says Arsene Wenger.

Ahead of the Gunners facing Burnley, a match that would move them up to second if won, Wenger talked of the increasing importance of picking up points.

When asked if the next few games would shape his side’s season, he replied: ‘Yes,’ before elaborating.

‘The closer you get to the end of the season the more important every game becomes because you have less opportunities to come back if you miss points.

‘That’s why of course the pressure on the teams is higher.’

Arsenal have an FA Cup tie with Southampton and a Premier League meeting with Watford before playing league leaders Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. With Arsenal’s London rivals currently holding a major points advantage over those below them, it seems likely a positive result in that match will be vital for the Gunners.
