Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has returned to training ahead of schedule in what is a huge boost for Antonio Conte’s side.

The Belgian went under the knife in June after suffering a broken ankle on international duty.

The 26-year-old was expected to return to action in October and was completely ruled out of Chelsea’s far-east tour.

However, Hazard was able to participate in light training this week and could be on course for an earlier return than expected.

Chelsea have played two matches so far in pre-season, beating Arsenal 3-1 and then losing to Bayern Munich 3-2.

Conte has opted for a reduced pre-season this summer with the Blues playing just four matches before they kick-off their Premier League campaign against Burnley.
