Inter are confident Manchester United will not increase their transfer offer for Ivan Perisic, reports in Italy claim.

United have been chasing the attacker all summer and have seen two bids turned down for his services.

Inter have played hard ball with the Red Devils and have set a take it or leave it asking price of £44million.

United are unwilling to meet the valuation and Inter are convinced they have frightened off the big-spending English side.

Mediaset Premium claim Inter are so confident they have forced United to end their interest that they are preparing a new contract offer for Perisic.

The Croatia international was thought to be keen on a switch to Old Trafford and has so far rejected all of Inter’s offers to stay.

But, Inter will make an improved bid to tie him down to a new deal and assure him he is a star man in their squad.

The Italians suggested to United that they could include striker Anthony Martial in a part-swap deal if they did not want to meet their asking price.

But, United have no interest in parting with their young forward and see Martial as a long-term star at Old Trafford.

It is believed United opened talks with Inter over the Perisic deal as far back as March, but the Red Devils now seem set to miss out on the winger.

Jose Mourinho has already revealed an attacking winger is a priority signing this summer as he looks to continue United’s spending spree.

Big money has already been spent on frontman Romelu Lukaku and defender Victor Lindelof.
