A number of Manchester United fans believe they have caught Angel Gomes red-handed trying to coax Manchester City winger Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford.
Sancho has been offered a three-year deal worth £30,000-a-week at the Etihad but the 17-year-old is yet to sign the contract due to concerns over playing time.
Reports suggest City are increasingly fearful that the youngster is set to join Arsenal, with the north London club expressing a strong interest ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
However, many United supporters spotted their starlet, Gomes, tweeting a picture of himself and Sancho – with the caption ‘link up soon’ – amid growing speculation that his England Under-17 team-mate will be on the move this summer.
While Gomes’ tweet may have been completely innocent, the timing of the cryptic message comes as talk of Sancho’s imminent departure from City is at its loudest.

‘His family think he might get a quicker path to first-team action at either Arsenal or Spurs.’
