Alexis Sanchez has reportedly been involved in a row with his agent as the Chile international continues to push for a summer exit, according to The Mirror.

The 28-year-old has only 11 months remaining on his contract and can discuss a move to a potential new club early next year, should he refuse to commit his future to the Gunners by signing a new deal.

Sanchez’s representative Fernando Felicevich would prefer his client to see out the remainder of his current contract and pursue a lucrative free transfer in the summer of 2018 but the former Barcelona star is said to be determined to take a different tact.

Arsenal remain adamant they will not sell to anyone, let alone a domestic rival, but Sanchez is said to have his heart set on a move to Manchester City and a reunion with his former coach Pep Guardiola.

Sanchez was expected to return to training this weekend but threw his future at Arsenal into fresh doubt by claiming to be sick and posting several pictures on Instagram.

‘Alexis and [Shkodran] Mustafi, their first training session will be on Sunday,’ explained Wenger on Friday, after the pair were given extended breaks due to their participation in the Confederations Cup.

‘They are practising on the day. First of all you make a really good check-up of where they are, how much they have worked during their break.

‘After, once you know where you stand, they need an adjusted programme and to see how quickly you can fit them in again.’
