Chelsea manager Antonio Conte says he is reluctant to put a time frame on Eden Hazard and Tiemoue Bakayoko’s returns from injury and doesn’t want to rush them back.

The pair are both out of action for the moment and have been expected to miss the start of the season for the Premier League champions.

Hazard picked up an injury on international duty with Belgium earlier in the summer, while Bakayoko arrived with a problem following his £40million transfer from Monaco.

Chelsea fans will undoubtedly be itching to see both players back on the pitch as soon as possible, but Conte doesn’t want to take any risks for the sake of both the players and of his team as a whole.

‘When you arrive from a bad injury, after surgery, it’s not easy to programme an exact date to come back,’ the Italian explained.

‘They are recovering very well and everybody knows the importance of them. Every single player must be in the best form to play.
