Renato Sanches’ international team-mate has stepped in to offer the Bayern Munich forward advice on who he should join this summer.

The Portugal star has been strongly linked with both Manchester United and Chelsea this summer.

Bayern Munich have indicated they are ready to let the 19-year-old depart – perhaps on loan – just 12 months after his arrival at the Allianz Arena.

Sanches failed to command a place in Carlo Ancelotti’s team, making just 17 Bundesliga appearances last term – of which only six were starts, and wants to move somewhere that will afford him more opportunities.

Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge revealed that he is being pursued by a number of clubs, among them Chelsea.

‘There are at least 10 teams after Sanches,’ he told Gazzetta dello Sport. ‘[Antonio] Conte asked for some information about him after Tuesday’s match because he knows he can make the difference on the pitch.

‘Ancelotti was pleased with his performance against Chelsea so we can make some reasoning on him later.’

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has said in the past he would have moved for Sanches last summer had he been in place at Old Trafford earlier.

However if the former Benfica player listens to Portugal team-mate Joao Mario he will end up switching to AC Milan – another club linked with the player.

‘We spoke after Thursday’s game [between Inter and Bayern Munich in Singapore],’ said Mario.

‘He is young and strong, so I understand that he wants to play consistently and there is a lot of competition for places at Bayern.

‘I told him that if he goes to Milan, he’ll find a great club and I’d have another friend in the city.’

Reports suggest Sanches prefers the idea of a switch to Serie A than the Premier League.
