Manchester United and Chelsea are keeping close tabs on Dutch wonderkid Melayro Bogarde, according to reports.

Bogarde, 15, who is the nephew of former Chelsea defender Winston Bogarde, is currently with Feyenoord but the youngster is a free agent until he turns 16 next May.

The Guardian suggest United and Chelsea have scouted the promising defender regularly and will watch on in August when Feyenoord take part in an Under-17 tournament in the Netherlands.

It’s understood Manchester City and Liverpool are also monitoring Bogarde and will have representatives at the competition in Tiel.

United scout Henny de Regt has seen Bogarde in action on a number of occasions and has sent positive feedback to Old Trafford over the teenager.

He would join fellow countrymen Daley Blind and Timothy Fosu-Mensah at United and likely line up alongside Dutch talent Tahith Chong in the academy.

Bogarde has been compared to John Stones and the Premier League’s top club’s have been attracted to the Dutchman’s ball-playing skills.
