The agent of Manchester United target Leander Dendoncker has admitted that he has held negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain over a possible move this summer.

Dendoncker, 22, has made 89 league appearances for Anderlecht since breaking into the first-team back in 2013 but the midfielder is being tipped to leave the Belgian outfit ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

Reports suggest Dendoncker is firmly on Jose Mourinho’s radar and United scouts are understood to have watched the Belgium international in action several times.

However, his agent, Christophe Henrotay, told Foot Mercato‘I spoke with PSG some time ago about several Anderlecht players.

‘It is true that there is interest from many clubs.’

Henrotay, though, gave United hope in the race to sign Dendoncker, admitting that a move to PSG remains a long way off.

‘But that does not mean that Leander will move to PSG, so there’s a lot to happen,’ he added.

Herman Van Holsbeeck has claimed Anderlecht are open to offers (Picture: Getty)

Anderlecht’s sport manager Herman Van Holsbeeck recently revealed that the club would listen to offers for Dendoncker this summer.

He told Het Belang van Limburg: ‘We want to cherish him, but if a club is willing to pay €25-35 million (£22-27m), we have a problem.

‘Against Manchester United, he has shown twice that he has the potential to play at a top European club.

‘We are lucky that the Champions League will not start until September, otherwise we’d have certainly lost him.

‘We would like to see Leander here another year, to work together for a transfer next summer. Just as we did with [Youri] Tielemans.’
