Manchester United summer signing Nemanja Matic has been spotted in training with his new team after completing a high-profile move from Chelsea.
Matic made 154 appearances for Chelsea across two spells at Stamford Bridge but the 29-year-old signed on the dotted line at Old Trafford this weekend for a reported fee of £40million.
Jose Mourinho was determined to bring in a defensive midfielder and heaped praise on Matic after United beat Juventus to the signature.
The Serbia international was pictured with the likes of Juan Mata, Daley Blind, Ander Herrera and Phil Jones at Carrington after Mourinho’s men returned from their pre-season tour.
Matic admits he is raring to at United and hopes to replicate club legend – and fellow countryman – Nemanja Vidic who spent eight years with the Red Devils.
‘Vidic was a great player – he had a great career,’ Matic told MUTV.
‘When I came to the international team he was the captain.
‘I will try my best to repeat what he did [at United]. I know it will be very hard but I will try.’
