Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly free to submit bids for Serge Aurier after Paris Saint-Germain put the defender up for sale.

Aurier told PSG earlier in the summer that he wanted to leave and the French side have decided they are ready to accept a transfer.

Chelsea and United are both on the look out for powerful full-backs and Aurier’s strength has attracted the Premier League rivals to his availability.

The Telegraph claim PSG have encouraged United to bid for Aurier and are awaiting the first offer for the Ivory Coast international.

PSG still rate Aurier highly, but with the arrival of Dani Alves and Thomas Meunier already on the books, the club believe they can easily take the hit of his departure.

Aurier is appealing an assault conviction that currently bans him from entering the UK.

The 24-year-old was stopped at the airport from flying to London in October when PSG were due to take on Arsenal in the Champions League.

The issues surrounding Aurier’s suitability to play in the Premier League will have to be resolved before Chelsea and United finalise a deal.

But, PSG have told both clubs the defender is available and they are ready to begin talks over a transfer.

Antonio Conte is desperate to add wing-backs to his squad and has ordered the Chelsea hierarchy to buy more players after his side were beaten by Arsenal in the Community Shield.

United have been heavily linked to Aurier in France with Jose Mourinho reportedly keen to bring in a natural full-back to take over from Antonio Valencia.

PSG value Aurier at around £27million, but are hopeful they can spark a bidding war between the two Premier League rivals.
