Ex-Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo is tipping Manchester United to win the Premier League next season because of Jose Mourinho.

The Argentine spent five years at Stamford Bridge but three of those were on loan with AC Milan and Inter Milan.

The striker was a popular figure with fans in west London and he won the Premier League in his second season at the club under Mourinho in 2006.

Chelsea cruised to the title in Antonio Conte’s debut campaign last season but Crespo says a settled Mourinho will bring the title back to Old Trafford next May.

‘I think Manchester United will win the Premier League because Mourinho has never failed in a second season,’ Crespo told Betstar.

‘Jose is one of the best in the world. He’s made history everywhere with Porto, Inter and now he can do it with Manchester United. It’s difficult to explain, but when you play with Mourinho, you feel like the best striker in the world.

‘There are two different people with Mourinho. The one in front of the camera and another Mourinho in the dressing room. I prefer the Mourinho in the dressing room, he’s friendlier. I really like his method of training, his motivation and his passion.’

United have signed Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic so far this summer but still look short in forward positions and at full-back.

Mourinho would ideally like to add Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic before the end of the window, while a move for Spurs full-back Danny Rose is also possible.
