Manchester United star Paul Pogba believes only a clean sweep of all four trophies will represent a successful season for Jose Mourinho’s side.

After a mixed first season back in the Premier League, following what was then a world record move fro Juventus, the midfield powerhouse is expected to be the driving force behind a genuine title bid this time around.

Untied and Pogba’s cause has been boosted by the summer arrivals of Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof but the France international believes the Old Trafford giants won’t be satisfied unless they end the season having won an unprecedented quadruple.

He told Sky Sports: ‘Win everything [is the target]. I will say we are Manchester United and we want to come back to the big Man United and win more trophies than last season.

‘We want to do better in the Premier League and now we are back in the Champions League and we want to do well in that competition.

‘We are Manchester United and we are here to do great things.’

Pogba’s confidence certainly doesn’t appear to have been affected by the criticism levied at him by for United boss David Moyes earlier this week.

‘I think he’s a top player, I don’t know if he’s a player who completely makes a difference for Manchester United,’ the Scot told ESPN.

‘I think that over the years Manchester United have had players like (Eric) Cantona, even Ryan Giggs, people who are special players. I don’t know if Pogba’s that.

‘I think he’s a good player, I think he’ll add to Manchester United, but will he make the difference? Is he someone who will score the goal at really important stages in games or make the key pass? I’m not sure about that.

‘But I do think that the machine that Manchester United are now, the size, the players they’ve got, you know they’ve got a massive stature to their team, I think Pogba adds to that. And I do think he’s a good player, but I’m not quite sure if he’ll make the difference in key games.’
