Anthony Martial made an impressive impact after coming off the bench in Manchester United’s 4-0 win over West Ham.

The France international wasn’t introduced until the 80th minute but found time to score and then assist a goal before the game was over.

It was quite a statement from the 21-year-old, who has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer.

Since the arrival of Jose Mourinho at Manchester United the former Monaco player has found a place in the starting XI hard to come by, something which continued in the first match of the season. Marcus Rashford, who struck the woodwork and provided an assist against West Ham, was favoured instead.

But Martial’s performance will give Mourinho a selection dilemma before the red Devils’ next match, which is against Swansea next weekend.

Not since Nani did it in 2008 has a Manchester United substitute scored and assisted after coming off the bench.

With numerous clubs reportedly lurking and Martial understood to be frustrated by the situation, Mourinho will be taking a risk if he continues to overlook him.
