Ivan Perisic’s agent is reportedly set to meet with Inter Milan in the next 24 hours as a transfer to Manchester United remains theoretically possible.

The Croatia international’s future has been up in the air all summer, with strong speculation that he could be on his way to Old Trafford after deciding to quit the San Siro.

Inter have held firm over their asking price for Perisic, and United have been unwilling to meet their demands that would also involve including Anthony Martial as part of a swap deal.

Still, United could still be in contention to snap him up if their stance changes, with Calciomercato claiming Perisic’s agent Fali Ramadani is due in Milan for talks over his client’s situation.

This could involve the 28-year-old signing a new contract with the Nerazzuri, or it could once again open the door for a transfer away from the club, with Chelsea also recently linked as potential suitors.

United have been chasing attacking players all summer, with Real Madrid wide-man Gareth Bale also thought to have been in Jose Mourinho’s sights, though that deal now looks unlikely due to Cristiano Ronaldo’s suspension and Real’s lack of success in attempting to sign Kylian Mbappe from Monaco.

Perisic could end up being the best bet for the Red Devils, but it seems they are reluctant to pay such a lofty fee for a player who’ll turn 29 in February.

United are thought to have most recently bid around £39million for Perisic, but various reports over the course of the summer have suggested he could cost as much as £45-50m.

Mourinho has already spent big on bringing in Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof, but still looks short of natural wide players to provide pace on the flanks as well as ammunition for his strikers.
