Former Arsenal transfer target Julian Draxler is unhappy at Paris Saint-Germain and has instructed his agents to find him a new club before the end of the summer.

The Germany international has shone at PSG since joining from Wolfsburg in January, but now finds himself in an uncertain position in the team following the £199million signing of Neymar.

Arsenal looked close to signing Draxler during his days at Schalke and have continued to be linked with him since then, though the Gunners aren’t currently short of options in attack.

Arsene Wenger had been tracking Thomas Lemar and Riyad Mahrez earlier in the summer, but his interest seems to have cooled as Alexis Sanchez looks increasingly likely to stay at the Emirates Stadium this season.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Draxler’s representatives have sounded out Barcelona over a move, though the 23-year-old is not currently thought to be in the club’s thinking.

The Catalan giants have been seemingly focusing on bringing in both Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool and Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund, though reports are mixed on how advanced both deals are.

Draxler’s agent Roger Wittmann seems to sense he could tempt Barca into a deal, though in recently scouring PSG for potential cast-offs after the Neymar deal, they have been more strongly linked with his team-mate Angel Di Maria.

Draxler himself would like to be assured of a key role at PSG, but it seems unlikely that he’d have a great deal more luck getting into the Barcelona team at present, especially if one of Coutinho and Dembele join.
