Blaise Matuidi is undergoing a medical ahead of his move to Juventus

Blaise Matuidi is on the verge of completing his move from Paris Saint-Germain to Juventus for a bargain £18.2million and fans of Arsenal and Chelsea are struggling to comprehend how the Italian champions have managed to secure such a bargain.

Antonio Conte has made no secret of his desire to strengthen his Chelsea engine room in light of Nemanja Matic’s sale to Manchester United but has been quoted £40m for Leicester City’s Danny Drinkwater.

The England midfielder played a prominent role in his side’s unlikely 2015/16 Premier League title-winning campaign but his career achievements pale into insignificant when compared to Matuidi’s, a serial Ligue 1 winner, whose quality is proven at both international and Champions League level.
