Tottenham will demand a fee of £54million for Danny Rose if crunch talks scheduled for the coming week fail to heal the rift caused by the left-back’s explosive interview earlier this month.

The Independent claim Rose will sit down with Mauricio Pochettino in an attempt to clear the air after the England international questioned the club’s ambition in the transfer market and outlined his intention to move back to the north at some point in the near future.

Tottenham are said to be determined to keep hold of the 27-year-old, who has emerged as a key component of a rapidly improving Spurs side under Pochettino.

Relations are reported to have soured between player and manager since Rose voiced his concerns to the Sun, but Spurs remain determined to keep hold of a player who has made over 100 Premier League appearances in a decade of service.

Chelsea are interested in Rose having seen bids for Alex Sandro of Juventus turned down and failed to land the likes of Dani Alves and Danilo earlier in the transfer window.

Manchester United, meanwhile, are also monitoring Rose despite Jose Mourinho hinting he is ready to offer Luke Shaw one last chance to resurrect his Old Trafford career, while Marcos Rojo is closing in on his return and could offer another option at left-back.

Should Tottenham sanction Rose’s sale, however, the Independent claims they would demand £50m up front and £4m in potential add-ons, as they did when they allowed Kyle Walker to move to Manchester City earlier this summer.
