Paris Saint-Germain have entered the race to sign Arsenal target Jean Michael Seri with the sole purpose of driving his price up to ‘f***’ Barcelona, according to the midfielder’s agent.

The two European heavyweights have been slugging it out all summer, with Barcelona initially trying to force PSG into selling Marco Verratti. The Ligue 1 giants resisted and responded by securing the world-record transfer of Neymar, much to Barca’s annoyance.

Neymar, himself, has been critical of his former club’s board who are now attempting to sue him for breach of contract.

Having failed to lure Verratti to Camp Nou, Barcelona are reported to have targeted Seri as they intensify their search for Andres Iniesta’s long-term replacement.

The Ivory Coast international’s future is likely to be resolved in the coming week after Nice failed to secure Champions League qualification following their play-off defeat to Napoli, but PSG are attempting to throw a spanner in the works.

‘It was possible to reach an agreement as Barcelona and Nice were negotiating,’ Franklin Mala told RAC1.

‘On Tuesday, they were in France, talking about technical aspects but they already knew Seri’s capabilities.

‘PSG came three days ago. Now PSG is putting pressure on the club to take the player, it’s crazy. They just want to do it to f*** Barca.’
